GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the WLD-Welding department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Knowledgeable of all facets of welding and industrial automation to include blueprint reading, basic metallurgy, heat treating, basic math, electrical and mechanical. Experience teaching welding and industrial automation to students of all ages and backgrounds. Current pipe welding certification or capable of passing required certification
This position is highly independent and requires a high degree of integrity and motivation. This individual reports to and will seek general direction and supervision from the department head. The selected individual must adhere to federal, state, local and college policy and procedures as they apply to the Welding department.
The individual must be willing to teach day, evening, and online classes. Must have eyesight of 20/30 with or without corrected lenses and be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Must have basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A certificate in welding, one (1) full year of work experience, and demonstrated competencies in welding. Also, must be current in welding procedures (certified according to ASME Section IX or NCCER certified) and pass a pipe welding test appropriate for classes being taught. (Pipe Welding test not required for WLD 108, WLD 235, and WLD 240) or a high school diploma or GED, and two (2) full years of work experience in a welding discipline to include welding and metal fabrication. Also, must be current in welding procedures (certified according to ASME Section IX or NCCER certified) and pass a pipe welding test appropriate for classes being taught. (Pipe Welding test not required for WLD 108, WLD 235, and WLD 240.)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
