Rosewood on the Sound is seeking dependable, compassionate, and experienced Home Health Aides (HHAs) to join our assisted living team in Bayville, NY.
Our HHAs provide hands-on assistance and support to residents while promoting dignity, independence, safety, and quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and personal hygiene
- Assist residents with ambulation, transfers, positioning, and mobility as needed
- Provide assistance during meals and with feeding when required
- Respond promptly to resident needs and call bells
- Perform scheduled resident rounds and safety checks
- Maintain residents' rooms and personal areas in a clean and safe condition
- Assist with changing bed linens and resident-related care tasks
- Observe residents for changes in condition, behavior, mobility, appetite, or overall well-being and promptly report concerns to the appropriate supervisor
- Follow each resident's individualized plan of care
- Properly document care and services provided as required
- Follow infection-control, safety, and emergency procedures
- Communicate professionally with residents, families, coworkers, and supervisors
- Work cooperatively with other staff members to ensure residents receive timely and appropriate care
- Maintain resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times
- Perform other resident-care duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Valid New York State HHA Certificate required
- Previous experience in assisted living, senior care, home care, or a related setting preferred
- Experience working with elderly residents and residents with dementia or cognitive impairment is a plus
- Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Must have strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to safely perform the physical duties associated with resident care
- Must be able to complete required employment health screenings and background requirements
Pay: $18.25 per hour
