Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, following proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on dish presentation and ingredient quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service hours
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality standards
- Handle food with care, utilizing proper knife skills and cooking techniques to produce consistent results
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment, particularly in fine dining or catering settings
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety protocols
- Experience with dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus
- Skilled in meal preparation, food handling, and kitchen operations within the food industry
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with culinary techniques for diverse cuisines
- Demonstrated ability to follow recipes, assist with menu planning, and support team members effectively
