Job Summary
The Security Officer is responsible for safeguarding guests, employees, company assets, and property. This position plays a critical role in crime prevention, emergency response, regulatory compliance, and delivering excellent customer service while maintaining a highly visible and professional presence throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
Safeguard casino property against fire, theft, vandalism, and other criminal activity
Enforce property rules, company policies, and state and federal gaming regulations
Perform regular patrols of the facility on foot, both inside and outside
Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions or suspicious activity to management
Respond to all emergencies and provide assistance utilizing CPR, AED, and First Aid training
Communicate patient care information to responding medical personnel and apply first aid as needed
Investigate, document, and generate written reports for all security-related incidents involving guests, employees, or the facility
Maintain working knowledge of and enforce Security Standard Operating Procedures
Accept and verify identification for individuals who appear under the age of 21 to ensure regulatory compliance
Protect, transport, and escort company assets, including cash and secured items
Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure safe transportation of company money
Operate company vehicles when directed
Provide escorts to patrons and employees to their vehicles when requested
Display professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality at all times
Deliver excellent customer service by remaining friendly, courteous, and attentive to guest needs
Take ownership of guest concerns and work toward prompt and effective resolution
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Security Director

Proficient in basic computer systems and report writing
Ability to operate radios and other security-related equipment
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED required
Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or casino operations preferred
Security/Customer service experience strongly preferred
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Must be able to obtain and maintain all required gaming and security licenses
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to patrol large areas, including stairs and exterior grounds
Ability to respond quickly to emergencies and critical incidents
Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 50 pounds as required
Ability to visually observe surroundings and hear radio communications
Ability to work long shifts in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Schedule Requirements
Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
