Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians in installing residential HVAC systems, including air conditioning units, furnaces, and ventilation equipment.
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams to ensure accurate installation and troubleshooting.
- Support the setup and maintenance of HVAC components such as refrigerant lines, ductwork, thermostats, and electrical wiring.
- Conduct routine inspections and basic repairs on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal operation.
- Learn to use diagnostic tools like ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify system issues.
- Help maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities for each customer site.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all field service activities to ensure personal safety and compliance with industry standards.
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of construction principles and mechanical systems; prior experience in service technician roles is a plus.
- Familiarity with schematics, HVAC design concepts, plumbing, refrigeration systems, or property maintenance is advantageous.
- Mechanical aptitude with an interest in learning HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic instruments such as ohmmeters.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience operating <PERSON> drivers or similar vehicles preferred.
- Willingness to learn about ammonia refrigeration systems and boiler mechanics as part of ongoing training.
- Strong communication skills with a proactive attitude toward field service tasks and customer interactions.
