The Arc Greater Hudson Valley is a not-for-profit agency dedicated to providing support and services to over 1,800 people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and to their families in Sullivan, Orange and Dutchess Counties, New York. A chapter of The Arc New York, our main offices are located at 162 East Broadway in Monticello, NY.
Our agency offers a broad range of services including Residential Services, Clinical Services, Day Services, Family Support Services, Guardianship Services, Employment Services, Recreation and more. Summary
As an OMH Children’s Overnight Respite Provider, you will offer short-term overnight care in your home for children who need a temporary, safe and nurturing environment outside their primary residence. This is a flexible, on-call position and an important support service for families in our community in need of respite.
Requirements
- Provide safe, overnight care for a child in your home.
- Communicate with agency staff and attend required check-ins.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a private, furnished bedroom available exclusively for respite use.
- Home must meet health, safety, and accessibility standards.
- Completion of all OMH-required training prior to providing care.
- Previous experience working with children or in human services is a plus.
- Follow all OMH guidelines and protocols for respite care.
Must have a valid driver license for at least one year.
