Position Overview
Handy Gringo is seeking an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, and has experience in residential and commercial property maintenance. Every day brings something different, so the ideal candidate is comfortable working independently while providing high-quality craftsmanship.
What You’ll Do
- Perform general maintenance and repair work at residential and commercial properties.
- Diagnose and repair plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, carpentry, cabinetry, flooring, doors, windows, trim, and general renovation issues.
- Complete work orders efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
- Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, and homeowners.
- Keep accurate notes, photos, and job updates throughout the day.
- Travel between multiple job sites using your own reliable vehicle.
- Work safely while maintaining a clean and organized job site.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on maintenance or handyman experience.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Plumbing repairs
- Electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Drywall installation and finishing
- Painting
- Carpentry and cabinetry
- Flooring installation and repairs
- Door and window repairs
- General home and apartment renovations
- HVAC experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems without constant supervision.
- Must have your own basic hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work on ladders when necessary.

Schedule
- Monday through Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No evenings
- No weekends
- No on-call responsibilities

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Travel to multiple residential and commercial job sites throughout the day using your own reliable vehicle.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and renovations while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Diagnose and repair issues involving plumbing, electrical, drywall, painting, flooring, cabinetry, carpentry, doors, windows, trim, and other general maintenance items.
- Accurately document every job by uploading before, during, and after photos into Housecall Pro.
- Enter detailed notes in Housecall Pro documenting work performed, materials used, recommendations, and any additional issues discovered.
- Maintain clear, professional communication with residents, property managers, office staff, and supervisors throughout each project.
- Provide excellent customer service while working in occupied homes and apartment communities.
- Notify the office immediately of any changes in scope, additional damages, safety concerns, or delays.
- Keep work areas clean and organized throughout the project and leave each property in better condition than you found it.
- Troubleshoot problems efficiently and make sound repair decisions without constant supervision.
- Accurately identify materials needed for repairs and communicate those needs to the office before arriving on site whenever possible.
- Complete assigned work orders on schedule while meeting Handy Gringo’s quality standards.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
- Be dependable, punctual, and prepared to begin work each day at 8:00 AM.
- Work as a team player by assisting other technicians when needed and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Represent Handy Gringo professionally through your appearance, workmanship, communication, and customer interactions.
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
