The Community Group (TCG) is a private non-profit organization, based in Lawrence, MA whose mission is to create, manage, and nurture high-quality programs focused on education and related services that support families. TCG was founded in 1970 as the Community Day Care Center of Lawrence, and has grown to manage a successful charter public school (Community Day Charter Public School), early education and care programs, out-of-school time programming, and workforce development initiatives.
The Purchasing Assistant will support the Purchasing Manager with administrative tasks including but not limited to: entering, receiving, and tracking orders to meet the needs of the organization. This position a temporary full-time position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide purchasing and administrative services, to the Purchasing Manager;
Process requisitions and purchase orders for recurring maintenance and paper supplies and assist purchasing manager with any other ordering as needed.
Ensure timely and accurate entry at all transaction levels in Intacct;
Monitor order trackers to ensure receiving is entered by programs in a timely manner and post all Receipt of Goods transaction entries to Intacct in a timely manner
Work with vendor and program to resolve any order discrepancies
Receive, unpack and distribute all physical orders to 190 Hampshire St.
Work with AP accountant to ensure that invoices and statements remain current and;
All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
1+ year(s) of account payable and/or purchasing or related clerical experience is preferred;
High School diploma or equivalent is required;
Proficient in Word and Excel;
Detail oriented, professional attitude and reliable; and
Ability to work well with others;
Must successfully complete and maintain all required pre-employment screenings, including CORI, SORI, and fingerprint-based background checks, in accordance with the regulations of the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
This position requires work on-site.
