The AV/IT Technicians role is to provide a single point of contact for end-users to receive support and maintenance within thedistricts technology and audio visual environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all ITand AV hardware, software and other related technology equipment to ensure optimal performance. This person will alsotroubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone or via other electronic means) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provideend-user assistance where required. District-wide travel is required.Operational and Management Responsibilities: Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation and removal.
Evaluate and document resolutions and analyze trends for ways to prevent future problems. Support development of new technology projects and installation. Conduct research on IT and AV products in support of hardware procurement and development efforts. Schedule and perform computer/audio visual hardware and peripheral equipment improvements, upgrades, replacements and repairs.
Perform onsite analysis, diagnosis and resolution of complex device problems for end users and recommend and implement corrective solutions. Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor and troubleshoot devices and related hardware and software to deliver required service levels. Operate and maintain Oakmont auditorium AV equipment (sound, lighting, rigging) to deliver required service levels. As needed, schedule and coordinate student technicians for Oakmont auditorium events.
When necessary, serve as audio visual technician for district events. Assess and implement performance upgrades to equipment as needed. Collaborate with technical staff to ensure efficient operations of the districts technology environment. Receive and respond to incoming communications regarding IT/AV problems.
Ensure that AV/IT ports and connections are in proper working order. Assist in the maintenance of technology equipment inventory. Liaise with third-party support and equipment vendors. Collaborate with AWCM on event support as needed.Regular Daily Duties: Respond to and support district staff with technology-related issues ensuring that all technology equipment is working properly.
Oversee Chromebook enrollment, service and repair, including liaising with 3 rd party support vendors. Maintain / update technology inventory. This includes adding new equipment, removing retired equipment and verifying the accuracy of the inventory. Maintain and clean technological equipment.
This includes AV equipment, computers (monitors, keyboards, mice, etc.), switches, projectors, touch screens, computer tables, etc. Organize and maintain technology office spaces and MDFs/IDFs. Stock and service copiers and printers. Train individual staff in use of hardware and software as needed.
Install and update software as needed.
