Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals that meet dietary guidelines and cater to the specific needs of our clients. This role requires a passion for food service, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a kitchen environment.
Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals according to established recipes and dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in menu planning and meal preparation that accommodates special dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives and other culinary tools.
- Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist with ordering as needed.
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality food presentation and service.
Requirements
- Proven experience in catering or food service, preferably in a culinary or restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations.
- Ability to prepare meals that meet specific dietary guidelines.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player who can work collaboratively with others in the kitchen.
- Certification in food safety or culinary arts is a plus but not required.
