We're seeking an aerial course manager to oversee the day to day operation of Cool River’s aerial park during season, preparation of courses and staffing during off-season, maintenance of the courses, and risk/policy management. If this job is for you, you are team-oriented, collaborative, organized, ready to inspire and lead a seasonal staff of 12+ guides, detail-oriented, and focused on safety.
Season responsibilities
- Supervise guide team to ensure park is operating safely and efficiently on a day-to-day basis
- Coordinate opening and closing responsibilities, work closely with designated lead guides, determine a protocol for when you are not present, and clearly detail their delegated responsibilities
- Provide on-going coaching/feedback to aerial staff and necessary documentation as needed. Act on inappropriate, risky or unprofessional behavior
- Accident/Near Miss-response and reporting
- Seasonal scheduling of guide team
- Facilitate regular seasonal team safety meetings
- Report issues with course and gear inspections and log remediations
- Coordinate and supervise monthly rescue practice
- Act as a Person-in-charge (PIC) (guest service, troubleshooting, and problem solving) regarding aerial park at any time general management or owner is not needed or present
- Lead among park staff in such a way that results in teamwork, collaboration, and well-functioning daily operation and timely resolution of complications
- Encourage a positive, professional, and friendly work environment
- Observe other seasonal staff expectations
- Report issues and provide regular feedback on park operations
Year-round responsibilities
- Become proficient with our reservation software, manage communication settings, and booking schedules.
- Maintain and develop our filing systems associated with gear inventories, orders, maintenance, remediation, and training documentation
- Maintain and develop our overall organization of aerial spaces, gear, and storage
- Oversee regular equipment, inspections, and course maintenance
- Manage all documentation related to course and maintenance
- Delegate responsibilities appropriately according to park needs and staff skills. Particularly for responsibilities surrounding park upkeep, inspections, and daily operations when park is open.
- Maintain knowledge of all ACCT Standards
- Update and develop park’s local operating procedures and operational documents
- Complete yearly hiring process, guide training, and operations planning
Requirements:
- Available weekends and holidays, Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day
- Strong supervisory, management, and communication skills
- Organized and meticulous
- Must be able to work outdoors for long periods of time in diverse and adverse weather conditions
- Comfortable working at height
- Excellent team-player and open to direction

- Ability to communicate across teams and lead in a diverse team
- Ability to navigate various programs (including Microsoft Office, Dropbox, and reservation system) and to direct staff on using those programs and troubleshoot when needed.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience in aerial parks or zip tours is highly preferred.
- Operational management experience with a background in recreation, team building, or education is preferred.
- College degree or coursework highly preferred.
- Spanish-language, bilingual desirable

Starting salary at 40k, higher start based on experience and education.
