Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment, welding repair techniques such as MIG welding and soldering.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment to shape, repair, and restore vehicle panels and frames.
- Conduct auto restoration projects by fabricating custom parts or repairing existing components through fabrication repair techniques.
- Install automotive parts including auto glass, bumpers, trim pieces, and other components with precision.
- Use auto estimating skills to assess damage severity and determine the necessary repair procedures accurately.
- Engage in heavy lifting and physical tasks required for vehicle repairs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or in a similar role within a dealership or independent shop.
- Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, sheet metal work, and auto body repair techniques.
- Skilled in MIG welding, soldering, welding repair, and fabrication methods essential for structural integrity and cosmetic excellence.
- Familiarity with automotive parts installation.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience using hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive welding equipment.
- Ability to perform auto glass replacement is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work on vehicles for extended periods while adhering to safety protocols.
