Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Support residents with medication administration following prescribed protocols and safety guidelines
- Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe patient transfers
- Monitor vital signs like blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to track health status
- Provide specialized care for individuals with Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive disabilities
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding while respecting dietary restrictions and preferences
- Engage residents in social activities and therapeutic programs to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports
- Follow infection control procedures by cleaning and sanitizing care areas regularly
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals to coordinate care plans
Skills
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and vital signs monitoring
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients with disabilities or cognitive impairments
- Experience working within residential or community-based care settings such as group homes or personal care homes
- Certification in CPR and First Aid to ensure immediate response during emergencies
- Ability to operate standard passenger vehicles safely for client transportation if required
- Comfort working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or complex health needs
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining resident safety and comfort
