Responsibilities
- Install fire alarm systems in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and building code requirements using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on fire alarm systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fire alarm control panels, sensors, wiring, and associated low voltage electrical components using engineering troubleshooting techniques.
- Read electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and construction documents to accurately plan system layouts and modifications.
- Perform system testing, calibration, and commissioning of fire alarm systems in compliance with NFPA standards and local fire codes.
- Collaborate with construction teams during new builds or renovations to ensure proper integration of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and system documentation for regulatory compliance.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining system functions, addressing client concerns, and ensuring satisfaction during installation or maintenance visits.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in fire alarm system installation, maintenance, or inspection within commercial or industrial settings.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems including proprietary control panels, sensors, schematics, and low voltage wiring.
- Ability to read electrical blueprints, schematics, CAD drawings, and construction documents accurately.
- Familiarity with NFPA standards (National Fire Protection Association), building codes, fire codes, and regulations governing fire sprinkler fitting and low voltage systems.
- Mechanical knowledge related to sprinkler systems and general construction inspection experience is highly desirable.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power meters, multimeters, and other field service equipment.
- Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical work related to alarms or building wiring is essential.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to travel between job sites as needed.
- Additional certifications such as NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies), NEC (National Electrical Code) training or relevant licenses are a plus.

Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
