DeBourgh Manufacturing is seeking a PRESS OPERATOR to join our team.
REPORTS TO: Front End Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for safe operation of various press machines to notch, punch or form sheet metal; to include all facets of set-up and tear-down required for fabrication of quality parts. Select positions and align dies in machine using rule, square, and templates. Make adjustments on machine for proper clearance between punch and die. Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools. Verify dimensions of workpieces to print or specifications. Maintain a clean work area, free from hazards. Safely operate overhead crane.
OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for completing all other work as assigned, including cross-training and intermittent work in other departments. Responsible for moving materials by use of forklift, dolly, or cart; accurate labor and material reporting; producing work through quality measures; conducting oneself in a safe and productive manner; understanding and following Company policies; taking constructive guidance, getting along with DeBourgh stakeholders and working as a team player.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge, Skill & Ability
- Ability to efficiently operate mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Ability to operate computers.
- Ability to measure up to 1/32 inch
- Good mechanical aptitude
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
- High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and self.
- Ability to understand and perform work to acceptable standards.
- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Experience with CNC machine operation and/or press operation preferred. Experience in sheet metal manufacturing preferred. HS diploma or GED required. Technical or vocational training preferred.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED: Metal manufacturing equipment including computer numerical controlled laser, punch, bending, and robotic machinery and related software. Forklift operation, basic hand tools, material handling equipment and equipment manual. Required protective wear: steel-toed shoes, safety glasses and gloves.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Internal environment includes medium to heavy factory work with temperatures varying from hot to cold. Ten hours a day standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching (some overhead movements), bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, operating controls with hands and/or feet, and numerous repetitive arm, hand and wrist movements. Must be able to hold/grip tools for long periods of time as well as stand in one place for extended periods. Good hand eye coordination. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear while training. Must be able to properly lift 80 pounds and have the ability to safely move products or material weighing up to 5000 lbs. through the use of material handling equipment and/or the aid of another team member. Hazards within the worksite may include sharp edges, mechanical equipment, paint fumes, debris and hoses on floor, industrial ladder/platforms, and material handling.
HOURS: Monday-Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
