Your day begins when students arrive — greeting them with a warm, welcoming presence that sets a positive tone for learning. Alongside the lead teacher, you'll help prepare instructional materials, arrange the physical classroom environment, and review the day's lesson plans to understand how best to support individual students. Throughout the morning, you may work one-on-one with a student who needs extra reinforcement on a reading skill, then transition to supervising a small group activity during a math lesson. You'll assist in planning and preparation for group and individual activities, provide enrichment and remedial assistance as needed, and support testing and evaluation to help gauge student progress. During non-instructional periods such as lunch, transitions, or recess, you'll supervise students, ensuring their safety and well-being. At the end of the day, you'll collaborate briefly with the classroom teacher to share observations about student performance and prepare for the next session. Success in this role looks like students feeling supported, teachers feeling empowered, and a classroom environment that is calm, structured, and conducive to learning.
