Job Summary
We are seeking a Used Car Reconditioning team leader with a minimum of 5 years experience in automotive repair. Candidate must be skilled in diagnostics with general knowledge of all makes and models and be able to manage a team and control work flow and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of used vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues.
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, powertrain components, and automotive electrical systems using hand tools and power tools.
- Diagnose vehicle problems utilizing automotive diagnostics equipment and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics.
- Repair or replace damaged body panels, perform auto body repairs, welding, and alignments as needed.
- Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features and ensure proper calibration post-repair.
- Execute maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake repairs, tire rotations, and wheel alignments to prepare vehicles for sale.
- Lift heavy components safely during repairs while adhering to manual handling safety protocols.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams accurately to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed repair records and communicate effectively with team members regarding vehicle status.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, dealership policies, and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications
- Previous dealership or automotive repair experience is highly preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive engine systems, powertrains, and electrical components.
- Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools, schematics interpretation, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and communication.
- Automotive certifications such as ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) or manufacturer-specific training are advantageous but not mandatory.
Pay: $20.16 - $43.97 per hour
