Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine and Oncology has been providing outstanding patient care for the past 24 years. Nestled deep in the beautiful bay area 5 minutes from downtown Annapolis is our state-of-the-art emergency and referral center. We have 6+ veterinarians and 40+ support staff, including patient care coordinators, technicians, assistants, and client service representatives. We work side-by-side and in collaboration with other specialty practices, including neurology, imaging, cardiology, surgery, rehabilitation, radiation oncology, ophthalmology, and a 24- hour emergency clinic
Available Shifts:
Tuesday through Friday, 8am – 6pm (times may be flexible)
No weekends, holidays, or on call!
What You'll Get to Do
As a patient care coordinator, you will commonly:
- Collaborate with doctors and staff to ensure seamless patient care and effective client communication
- Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans created by the veterinarian
- Review and communicate lab results with the doctor, and when appropriate, the client and referring veterinarian
- Be the go-to person for clients, ensuring client questions are addressed in a timely, professional, and solution-based manner
- Oversee the doctor’s appointment schedule to maximize workflow and number of patients seen, including coordination of procedures such as ultrasounds, endoscopy, bronchoscopy, and cystoscopy
- Support the clinical team through record keeping, tracking test results, and preparing and reviewing estimates
- Provide outstanding customer service during appointments and phone calls
- Attend CE courses/webinars or training as requested by the Clinical Educator
- Regularly attend staff meetings

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills with genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service
- Ability to critically think, problem solve, and make decisions to support the doctor, clinical team, clients, and patients
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and the ability to learn new veterinary based software applications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, stressful work environment. Must be able to maintain professionalism and composure at all times.
- Able to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervisors, clients and the public in a professional manner
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
- Ability to speak, read and write the English language
Education and Experience for Technicians:
- 2 years of veterinary technician experience, preferably in specialty or emergency/critical care veterinary medicine
- RVT preferred
- High School or Equivalent

Compensation
- $23-$32 per hour, based on experience and skill level
Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 per hour
