VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: Varsity Wrestling Coach LOCATION: Groves High School
SALARY: According to Schedule B salary schedule POSTING DATE: June 16th, 2026
SCHEDULE: 2026-27 Season
DEADLINE: Until Filled
Groves High School is seeking a Varsity Wrestling Coach for the 2026-2027 school year.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Create and maintain a program of excellence that is positive, safe, educational and sportsmanlike.
- Organize and plan regular season practice and training.
- Organize and plan pre-season work-outs, conditioning and camps as permitted by the MHSAA.
- General oversight and direction of the entire program (Freshman, JV and Varsity)
- Supervise sub-varsity coaching staff.
- Work with parents’ booster club to support the team.
- Foster positive relationships with parents and community members.
- Report to Athletic Director and Principal.
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Principal
Qualifications
The individual selected for this assignment will be the one who offers the best combination of qualities in
accordance with the following standards and requirements:
1. Successful high school head or assistant coaching experience.
2. Proven values and core beliefs which are consistent with our school community.
3. Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
4. Proven ability to work well with others including administration, coaches, teachers and parents.
5. Strong knowledge of Wrestling.
Compensation will be based upon the BEA Schedule B, High School Coach Salary Schedule.
