Position Overview
The Part-Time Production Worker assists with the bottling, labeling, packing, and preparation of spice and seasoning products for retail and wholesale customers. This position requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a deadline-driven production environment. Employees must be able to work both independently and as part of a team while consistently following company procedures, food safety requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). This is a physically active position that requires prolonged standing, bending, repetitive movements, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Primary Responsibilities:
Production & Bottling
· Accurately fill and package products according to specified weights, quantities, and packaging requirements.
· Use the correct bottles, caps, bags, labels, and other packaging components for each product.
· Accurately record required lot code and production information
· Follow all procedures for handling organic products, allergens, and other products requiring special processing or sanitation
· Monitor product and packaging supplies and notify a supervisor when inventory is running low.
· Maintain product quality while working efficiently to meet established production expectations.
· Assist with spice blending and other production tasks as trained and assigned.
Labeling & Quality Control
· Operate labeling equipment safely and accurately
· Verify that the correct labels, lot codes, seals, and packaging components are used for each order.
· Inspect finished products for labeling, packaging, and quality issues
· Notify a supervisor promptly of equipment problems, incorrect materials, low inventory, or other production concerns
Packing & Order Preparation
· Pack completed products into the appropriate boxes, cases, or pallet configurations
· Verify product and quantities before orders are completed for shipment or pickup
· Assist with preparing finished orders for shipping, delivery, or customer pickup
Cleaning & Sanitation
· Clean and sanitize production tables, equipment, utensils, and work areas according to company procedures
· Sweep and mop floors and clean walls or surrounding areas as needed
· Wash dishes and production utensils using required sanitation procedures
· Remove trash and maintain clean, organized production and labeling areas
· Assist with cleaning common areas, including the break room and restroom, as assigned
Employee will perform other duties and assignments as required

· Work accurately and efficiently while maintaining product quality
· Follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers
· Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment
· Perform other production, warehouse, cleaning, or related duties as assigned
Supervision Received:
Supervision is provided by the Operations Supervisor or other designated management personnel
Supervision Exercised:
None. Experienced employees may occasionally assist with training or coordinating work with new or temporary employees.
At-Will Employment
Employment with Wayzata Bay Spice Company is at will. This means that either the employee or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time., with or without notice, and with or without cause, subject to applicable law. Nothing in this position description creates or is intended to create a contract of employment or a guarantee of employment for any specific period of time.
90-Day Probationary Period
All new employees are subject to a 90-day probationary period beginning on their first day of employment. This period provides both the employee and the Company an opportunity to evaluate overall job performance and suitability for the position.
During the probationary period, employees will be evaluated on factors including:
· Attendance, punctuality, and reliability
· Productivity and ability to meet established performance expectations
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
· Compliance with food safety, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety requirements
· Ability to work effectively and professionally with supervisors and coworkers
· Overall job performance and suitability for the position
Employees who demonstrate satisfactory performance may be eligible for an increase from $16.00 to $17.00 per hour after 30 days of employment. This wage increase does not constitute completion of the 90 day probationary period.
Successful completion of the probationary period does not guarantee continued employment, change the employee’s at-will employment status, or create an employment contract. Either the employee or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without notice and with or without cause, subject to applicable law.
