This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for an experienced educator eager to make a real difference in the lives of students with moderate to severe needs. Over the course of the academic year (August 13, 2026, to June 8, 2027), you’ll work closely with a dedicated caseload, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment.
What You’ll Need:
- Valid California teaching credential for moderate/severe (mod/severe) disabilities (active status, required)
- Experience working in special education, preferably with moderate to severe caseloads
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with students, families, and school teams
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Adaptability and creativity in tailoring instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering specialized instruction and support services to students with moderate to severe needs
- Developing, updating, and implementing IEPs to promote each student’s academic and social success
- Collaborating with general education staff, related service professionals, and families to provide comprehensive support
- Maintaining accurate documentation and records in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Creating a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment to foster growth and development
