Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Head Saw Filer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in saw filing and maintenance, ensuring that all cutting tools are properly sharpened and maintained for optimal performance. This role requires a strong understanding of various saw types and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The Head Saw Filer will play a critical role in supporting our production processes by ensuring that all cutting equipment is functioning efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Sharpen and maintain various types of saws, including band saws, circular saws, and hand saws.
- Utilize precision measuring tools such as calipers to ensure accurate sharpening and adjustments.
- Collaborate with carpenters and other team members to understand specific cutting requirements for projects.
- Fabricate custom saw blades as needed for specialized tasks.
- Perform routine inspections of cutting tools to identify wear and necessary repairs.
- Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are stored properly.
- Assist in programming CNC machines for specific cutting tasks when required.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff on proper saw filing techniques and safety protocols.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Saw Filer or in a similar role within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of millwork processes and the ability to read technical drawings.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience with machining processes and CNC programming is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating effective communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
