We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Organist and Choir Director to lead and inspire our musical worship community. Responsibilities
- Lead the congregation in hymn singing and musical worship during services, ensuring an engaging and uplifting experience for all attendees.
- Play the organ or other keyboard instruments with proficiency, supporting the musical flow of services and special events.
- Direct, coordinate, and develop choir programs, including rehearsals, performances, and seasonal concerts.
- Teach vocal techniques, music theory, and liturgical music to choir members of varying skill levels, fostering growth and confidence.
- Collaborate with clergy and worship team to select appropriate music that aligns with liturgical themes and enhances the spiritual message.
- Mentor choir members by providing constructive feedback, encouraging participation, and cultivating leadership within the group.
- Organize special musical events such as holiday concerts, community outreach programs, or guest performances to enrich the congregation’s spiritual journey.
Skills
- Proven expertise in playing the organ or keyboard instruments with a strong understanding of liturgical music traditions.
- Demonstrated teaching ability to instruct choir members in vocal techniques and musical interpretation.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and organize choir groups while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clergy, staff, volunteers, and congregation members.
- Experience mentoring musicians or singers, helping them develop their talents within a supportive setting.
- Ability to plan rehearsals efficiently while maintaining a positive and encouraging atmosphere.

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,300.00 per month
