Full time positions available. (6am-6pm).
Under the directions and supervision of professional and practical nursing staff, performs routine duties in caring for infants through geriatric patients’ needs and unit maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Performs routine duties in caring for patients’ needs and activities of daily living, i.e., hygiene, comfort, ambulation.

Functions as an assistant to the nurse as assigned.

Documents and maintains data or patient’s record.
-
Demonstrates and promotes an awareness of patient’s age, growth, development, and cultural / spiritual.

Acts as a patient advocate.
-
Cooperates as a member of the nursing unit, department and overall hospital team.
-
Participates in performance improvement.
-
Performs related work as required.
-
Communicates pertinent data to appropriate parties.
-
Maintains patient confidentiality.
-
Conducts himself/herself effectively in stressful situations.
-
Approaches situations with distressed patients, families and visitors in a calm, professional manner.

Maintains a safe and clean environment.
Education: Completion of a state-approved CNA program required. High School Diploma preferred.
License/Certification: Certified Nursing Assistant certification required and CPR required.
Additional experience preferred:

Current knowledge of clinical practice.

Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment: copy machine, intercom system, telephones, computer and fax machine.

Experience in computer order entry.

Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for adolescent through geriatric patients.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Effectively handles frequent interruptions and distractions.
