Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Shipping/Receiving Manager to lead our shipping, receiving, and warehouse distribution operations. This role is vital in ensuring seamless supply chain management, efficient inventory control, and timely delivery of goods. Duties
- Oversee daily shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate processing of inbound and outbound shipments in compliance with trade regulations and company policies
- Manage warehouse distribution operations, including materials handling, stocking, and inventory management using ERP systems such as SAP or AS400
- Coordinate transportation management systems (TMS) for freight planning, dispatching, and carrier negotiations to optimize costs and delivery times
- Lead procurement and sourcing efforts by negotiating contracts with vendors and 3PL providers to secure competitive pricing and reliable service
- Conduct root cause analysis on supply chain disruptions or delays to implement process improvements and prevent recurrence
- Utilize data analysis tools like Tableau, SQL, and Excel for supply chain analytics, demand planning, and performance reporting
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards for import/export activities
- Supervise warehouse staff in forklift operation, manual handling, and materials management to maintain safety standards and operational efficiency
Skills
- Extensive experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms (such as SAP or AS400), and transportation management systems (TMS)
- Strong data collection, analysis skills, including proficiency in SQL, Excel data analysis, and supply chain analytics tools like Tableau
- Knowledge of inventory control practices, demand planning, procurement strategies, category management, and freight logistics
- Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors, carriers, and 3PL providers to optimize costs while maintaining quality service levels
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment such as forklifts and other materials handling machinery
- Familiarity with international trade regulations, trade compliance procedures, NVOCC operations (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier), and shipping & receiving protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement through root cause analysis and continuous optimization efforts
- Strong understanding of supply chain operations including production planning, sourcing strategies, inventory stocking levels, and order fulfillment processes
