Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy machinery including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Manage inventory control using warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track stock levels accurately.
- Assist in order picking and packing using various tools such as order pickers and <PERSON> pickers to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Conduct shipping and receiving activities by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments with AS400 or other warehouse management systems.
- Perform stock replenishment, stocking, and materials handling tasks to maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards by adhering to proper lifting techniques and mechanical knowledge for heavy equipment operation.
- Support warehouse distribution operations by load & unload activities, packaging products securely for shipment, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to improve processes related to order fulfillment, inventory management, and overall warehouse efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in a warehouse environment with familiarity in inventory management, shipping & receiving, and order picking.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, pallet jacks, and other mechanical tools.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanners, AS400 or similar platforms for inventory control.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Previous roles involving stocking, packaging, load & unload activities, or manufacturing environments are highly desirable.
- Experience in warehouse supervision or leadership roles is a plus but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
