Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal components according to precise specifications. Your expertise in machine operation, measurement, and blueprint interpretation will ensure the production of high-quality metal parts that meet strict safety and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring proper tooling and calibration for each job.
- Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine bending angles, dimensions, and sequence.
- Measure finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify conformance with specifications.
- Adjust machine parameters based on measurements and blueprint requirements to achieve desired results.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake equipment, including tooling changes and safety inspections.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize production workflows and troubleshoot machine issues promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area adhering to safety protocols and manufacturing standards.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating press brake machines along with familiarity with CNC programming for automated bending processes.
- Strong mechanical knowledge including understanding of forming machines, tooling setups, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and shop math for precise fabrication.
- Experience with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control.
- Knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments and adherence to safety protocols during machine operation.
- Basic understanding of CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe operations, welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and forming machines is advantageous.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude combined with strong attention to detail for quality inspection and measurement accuracy.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members across various manufacturing functions.
