Tax Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join our CPA firm and lead complex tax compliance, review, and client service work for high-net-worth individuals and small business clients. This role is ideal for a technically strong, client-facing CPA who can manage multiple engagements, review staff work, and serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and individual clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage and review federal and state tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, S corporations, corporations, trusts, and closely held businesses.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of HNW and small business tax clients, including year-round planning, issue resolution, and proactive communication.
- Research and resolve complex tax issues related to passthrough entities, multi-state filing, owner compensation, estimated taxes, trust reporting, and other client-specific matters.
- Supervise, mentor, and review the work of preparers and junior staff to ensure technical accuracy, timely delivery, and adherence to firm standards.
- Coordinate workflow, deadlines, extensions, and deliverables across multiple engagements during busy season and throughout the year.
- Identify tax planning opportunities for business owners and high-net-worth clients and communicate practical recommendations clearly.
- Maintain high standards for documentation, workflow notes, and client service in a paperless environment.
Qualifications
- Active CPA license required.
- 9+ years of recent tax experience in a public accounting or CPA firm environment.
- Strong experience with high-net-worth individual tax and small business taxation, including passthrough entities and owner-operated businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to review returns, manage client relationships, and lead staff effectively.
- Strong tax research, analytical, and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experience with professional tax software and cloud-based workflow/document management systems.

Pay: $130,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
