Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and responsible Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and commercial trucks on over-the-road (OTR) routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards
- Load, unload, and secure freight using manual handling techniques, including logistics cargo handling for various types of cargo such as refrigerated goods, hazardous materials, flatbed loads, or tankers
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel consumption and route planning
- Transport freight across long distances, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining safety protocols for dangerous goods and hazardous materials regulations
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues; report any concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, logs, inspection reports, and compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Collaborate with dispatch teams to coordinate route driving plans and adapt to changing delivery requirements
Skills
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record; experience with over-the-road (OTR) driving routes preferred
- Proficiency in operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and tractor-trailers with manual transmission capabilities
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT standards, hazardous materials regulations, and dangerous goods handling
- Skilled in GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and delivery execution
- Experience with truck loading and unloading processes, including freight handling for various cargo types such as freight containers or logistics cargo handling
- Ability to manually handle heavy loads safely during load & unload procedures
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence
