Job Summary
The CDL Class A Driver Tazewell, Tennessee location, is responsible for safely operating a tractor-trailer to deliver products to customers. This role may include local and regional routes, loading/unloading freight, ensuring accurate deliveries, and maintaining a high level of customer service. This is a hands-on position requiring physical activity, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a CDL Class A tractor-trailer on local and/or regional delivery routes
- Transport goods using dry van, flatbed, or other trailers as required
- Load and unload products, using equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts when needed
- Secure loads properly in compliance with DOT regulations (including use of straps, chains, tarps if applicable)
- Verify deliveries against invoices and bills of landing
- Obtain customer signatures and return completed paperwork
- Inspect vehicle and trailer before and after trips; report maintenance issues
- Maintain a clean and organized truck, trailer, and work area
- Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers
- Assist in warehouse duties as needed
- Overnighting in sleeper truck two nights per week and running local deliveries as needed
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2–3 years of tractor-trailer driving experience preferred
- Ability to pass DOT drug screen, background check, and physical
- Must be 21 years or older
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience with load securement (strapping, chaining, tarping) preferred
- Manual transmission experience preferred
- Forklift experience (sit-down LP) is a plus
