Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented, team player with high communication skills for our Construction Equipment Fleet Manager position. This position will oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and safe operation of a company's heavy machinery and vehicles. To make sure they are ready and safe to work.
Responsibilities
- Equipment Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to extend asset lifecycles and minimize costly, unexpected breakdowns in the field.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor shop supervisors, mechanics, lube technicians, and dispatchers. Oversee hiring, training, and performance reviews.
- Budget & Cost Control: Track expenditures related to fuel, repairs, parts inventories, and outsourcing. Analyze life-cycle costs to defend equipment replacement and rental budgets.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all heavy equipment and commercial vehicles adhere to OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations. Track inspections and required licensing.
- Asset Tracking & Allocation: Coordinate with project managers and site supervisors to efficiently deploy and reallocate heavy machinery across various job sites in the region.
- Vendor Management: Source replacement parts, negotiate purchasing/leasing contracts with equipment dealers, and manage outside repair vendors.
- Technology Implementation: Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, telematics, and fleet management tools to track utilization, maintenance data, and equipment telemetrics.
- Experience: Typically 3–5+ years of direct fleet management or maintenance experience, specifically handling heavy-duty industrial or construction equipment.
Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
