Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our dental team by providing exceptional patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Take X-rays as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information accurately.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Participate in infection control procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.
Skills
- Proficiency in Prosthodontics and Endodontics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with Dental coding practices is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy.
- Ability to take vital signs accurately.
- Experience with X-Ray technology and procedures.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy.
- Knowledge of infection control standards within a dental setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective patient interaction.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
