We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. Schedule:
Monday, Wednesday,& Friday 9a-5pm 24 hours
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings according to care plans
- Administer medications safely following HIPAA regulations and established protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when required
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties in resident living areas and common spaces
- Support residents with community outings, social activities, and recreational programs to promote engagement and independence
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA standards and facility policies
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia (including Alzheimer’s and memory care), or other special needs
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring required
- Experience with patient care procedures such as assisted mobility, heavy lifting, use of Hoyer lifts, and resident transfers necessary
- Familiarity with care plans development and implementation for long-term care residents or hospice patients beneficial
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, HIPAA compliance, or nursing assistance are highly valued
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety standards
