Job Title: Databricks Solution Sales Leader (Partnerships & Technical Sales)
Location: Remote (1st preference – EST; 2nd preference – CST) potential for some travel to Pittsburgh, PA.
Work Schedule/Shift: Monday to Friday, Standard business hours | Minimum expectation of ~40 work hours per week.

Position Overview:
CEI is expanding its Data and AI Solutions practice to support enterprise clients adopting modern data platforms and advanced analytics architectures. As part of this initiative, CEI is hiring a Databricks Solution Sales Leader to help drive enterprise adoption of Databricks-based data and AI platforms. This role operates at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud modernization. The position will collaborate closely with CEI’s sales, engineering, and solution architecture teams while also working alongside external ecosystem partners including cloud providers, consulting organizations, and Databricks representatives. The individual in this role will operate as both an enterprise sales driver and a strategic advisor helping organizations modernize data environments using Databricks’ Lakehouse architecture. The Databricks Solution Sales Leader will operate in a player-coach capacity, contributing directly to revenue generation while also mentoring internal teams on Databricks value positioning and technical solution alignment. This role will support complex enterprise engagements that involve data modernization, analytics transformation, and AI or machine learning initiatives. The position works closely with CEI’s solution architects, delivery teams, and technical specialists to design customer solutions, guide proof-of-value engagements, and ensure successful platform adoption. The individual will also maintain relationships with executive stakeholders and data leadership teams within enterprise organizations to guide long-term data platform strategies.
Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- 7–10+ years of enterprise technology sales experience
- 3+ years selling data platforms, analytics platforms, or artificial intelligence solutions
- Demonstrated experience selling Databricks, Spark-based platforms, or modern data stack technologies
- Strong understanding of data engineering pipelines, including processes that move and transform large-scale data sets across enterprise systems
- Experience working with data lakes or Lakehouse architectures used for unified data storage and analytics workloads
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows, including model development, deployment, and lifecycle management within enterprise data platforms
- Knowledge of modern analytics ecosystems, including business intelligence platforms and SQL-based data analysis environments
- Proven success managing complex enterprise deal cycles involving contracts of $500K or greater
- Experience collaborating with cloud platform providers and system integrator partners during enterprise solution sales engagements
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical stakeholders such as data engineers and architects, as well as executive decision-makers including CIOs, CDOs, and business leadership
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience working directly with Databricks solutions or similar platforms such as Snowflake, Apache Spark, or Delta Lake
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Understanding of modern data stack components including data ingestion tools, ETL/ELT frameworks, data governance platforms, and AI/ML frameworks
- Experience collaborating with consulting firms, professional services organizations, or system integrators during enterprise data platform initiatives
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue enterprise opportunities where organizations are modernizing data environments and require scalable analytics and AI platforms, positioning Databricks as the foundation for enterprise data architecture
- Develop account strategies for target enterprise clients by analyzing current data environments, identifying modernization opportunities, and aligning Lakehouse architecture capabilities with business objectives such as analytics transformation or AI enablement
- Conduct consultative sales discussions with CIOs, Chief Data Officers, and data platform leadership to understand business challenges related to data fragmentation, analytics limitations, or machine learning adoption
- Translate enterprise business requirements into technical solution approaches using Databricks, collaborating with internal solution architects to design platform architectures and data pipelines that support large-scale analytics and AI initiatives
- Coordinate and participate in technical demonstrations, architecture workshops, and proof-of-value engagements that showcase how Databricks Lakehouse architecture supports data engineering, machine learning, and analytics workloads within a unified platform
- Work alongside technical teams to develop solution proposals that incorporate data engineering workflows, machine learning lifecycle management, and SQL-based analytics capabilities within Databricks environments
- Collaborate with CEI delivery teams to ensure the proposed technical solution aligns with implementation capabilities and long-term client success outcomes
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with ecosystem partners including cloud providers, Databricks representatives, and consulting or system integrator partners that co-sell enterprise data modernization initiatives
- Participate in joint go-to-market initiatives with partners, identifying opportunities to generate pipeline through collaborative engagements, partner referrals, and shared solution offerings
- Identify opportunities to leverage partnerships to accelerate enterprise sales cycles, expand solution capabilities, and strengthen CEI’s presence within the data and AI ecosystem
- Maintain ongoing communication with enterprise customers throughout the sales cycle, providing advisory guidance related to data platform modernization strategies and analytics architecture decisions
- Act as a trusted advisor for customers evaluating data engineering pipelines, machine learning workflows, and enterprise analytics modernization initiatives
- Provide feedback to internal leadership, engineering teams, and product stakeholders regarding customer requirements, market trends, and opportunities for expanding CEI’s data and AI solution offerings
- Mentor internal sales teams and solution consultants on how to effectively position Databricks within enterprise accounts, including messaging around Lakehouse architecture and modern data stack strategies
- Track revenue performance, pipeline growth, and partner-sourced opportunities associated with Databricks-related initiatives to ensure measurable growth in CEI’s data platform solutions portfolio
