MAC Automation is looking for a skilled Welder II to join our manufacturing team. If you're an experienced welder who enjoys producing precision work and takes pride in quality craftsmanship, we'd like to hear from you.
As a Welder II, you'll fabricate and weld components used to build custom automation equipment for manufacturers around the world. You'll work independently on a variety of projects while collaborating with engineers, assemblers, and experienced fabrication professionals.
What You'll Do
- Perform MIG welding on steel components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings.
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom weldments.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
- Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely.
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and recommend solutions.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Support production schedules while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Assist in training and mentoring entry-level welders.
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2–5 years of welding or fabrication experience.
- Strong MIG welding skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings.
- Experience using measuring and layout tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Preferred
- Technical training in Welding Technology.
- AWS welding certification.
- Experience in custom machinery or equipment manufacturing.
- Forklift experience.

Physical Requirements
This position requires employees to:
- Stand and walk throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, reach, kneel, and lift materials.
- Lift up to 50 pounds, with heavier items moved using lifting equipment or team assistance.
- Perform repetitive hand movements while maintaining precision.
- Wear required PPE throughout the work shift.
Work Environment
Work is performed in a modern manufacturing facility where employees are regularly (minimally) exposed to welding operations, grinding, heat, metal dust, industrial equipment, and moderate noise levels. Safety is a core value, and employees are expected to follow all OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
