Duties
- Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with nonprofit standards
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing of transactions
- Conduct internal audits and oversee external audits to uphold financial integrity
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax regulations specific to nonprofit organizations
- Collaborate with program teams to develop financial forecasts and strategic plans
- Maintain detailed records of all financial activities, including grant management and funding allocations
- Provide guidance on financial policies, procedures, and best practices to staff members
Experience
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required with experience in nonprofit accounting preferred
- Proven track record of managing complex financial operations within a nonprofit or similar organization
- Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting standards (such as GAAP) and relevant regulations
- Hands-on experience with financial software systems used in nonprofit environments
- Mechanical knowledge or familiarity with basic repair tools is a plus for understanding maintenance-related budgets or projects
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or auto repair is beneficial if managing transportation assets or fleet funding
- Demonstrated ability to handle heavy lifting tasks related to physical inventory or equipment handling is advantageous for certain operational duties
