Position Overview
Power Diagnostics® Services monitors a large fleet of power generation equipment utilizing advanced data analysis techniques and innovative tools to empower our customers to make smarter decisions. The Power Diagnostics Engineering Technician is responsible for monitoring the daily data flow from multiple worldwide customer power plants and resolving issues with the data acquisition system and remote network connections. The position requires the ability to work 12-hour shifts (including Night Shifts) with mandatory overtime.
- Ensure daily acquisition of data for all monitored Power Diagnostics® sites.
- Acquire partial data files, Sequence of Events files, and control system data from monitored sites, upon request of Operations Engineers and Service Engineering.
- Answer phone calls and track issues for PDC.
- Handle first level troubleshooting of all issues associated with the PDS rule base processing.
- Maintain high levels of communication between support groups (Power Diagnostics® Operations, Service Engineering, and the Omnivise Edge Data Acquisition System Group).
- Support PDC Install technicians with cRSP (common Remote Service Platform) VPN installations remotely, from the PDC.
- Data Acquisition System support – handle first level troubleshooting and maintenance– reboots, tag additions, DCS synchronization, data quality investigations etc.
PDC Room Technician Technologies / Methodologies
- Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Visio).
- Familiar with Cisco routers and firewalls is a plus but not required.
- Networking and Computer troubleshooting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
- Positive Customer focused attitude.
- Associate degree or 1-2 years of vocational technical training preferred. HS diploma or equivalent required. Specialized skill training / certification may be required
Pay: From $26.00 per hour
