Landscape Maintenance Crew Member
Pine Coast Landscape is a quality focused, full scope design and build company serving southern Maine and the New Hampshire seacoast.
A reputable and established firm, we are looking for a skilled professional with a background in horticulture and landscape maintenance to join our team and continue to grow with us. Very little mowing required. The ideal candidate is passionate about, and committed to the trade while seeking to improve their skills and knowledge within the field. We are seeking an employee who is accountable and professional, will work efficiently, follow instructions, and use common sense. This position is for someone who enjoys working outdoors and as part of a team to create something to be proud of.
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years experience in landscape maintenance / horticultural related field (preferred)
- Knowledge and ability of proper pruning technique
- Working knowledge of plant materials and cultural requirements (preferred) or ability to learn
- Ability to lift of 75 lbs.
- Driver's license, reliable transportation and ability to acquire DOT medical safety card
- Ability to work variable hours (typically 7am-5pm M-Fri.) Note: We are open to hiring someone part-time (3 days a week), and can be flexible with schedule.
- Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions
- Professional references required
- Salaries will commensurate with experience
Responsibilities
- Assist in spring and fall clean ups, to include leaf clean up, edging, mulching, structural pruning of trees and shrubs, etc.
- Manage several weekly, bi-weekly and monthly maintenance accounts throughout the seacoast. Tasks include weeding, deadheading, seasonally appropriate structural pruning of trees and shrubs, watering as needed, dividing and transplanting as needed, deer repellent application, small amount of mowing, etc.
- Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Maintain professional relationships with clients, and ability to manage on-going punchlist items at each account
- Ability to operate trucks and trailers effectively
- Occasionally work on new planting installations. Primary responsibilities will revolve around maintenance accounts. If applicant shows an interest in installation work or interest in learning, we can offer additional work in those areas
- Maintain healthy physical condition required to perform daily duties
- Ability to effectively and professionally communication with clients and team members
