SIGN & LIGHTING SR. TECHNICIAN
Before we get started...PLEASE BE AWARE...this position involves working solo, outdoors, in a bucket truck or on ladders, (in the heat & humidity), at times it is physically demanding. The job will include a range of activities such as changing light bulbs, at others it may require digging a trench to burry wires. It is often lifting/carrying 30-50 lbs. It is not recommended for someone with back, neck or joint issues.
This position will be the Senior Technician for our operation. You must be comfortable with troubleshooting and managing large jobs. You will be directing our other technician when working together. We are looking for someone who wants a long term, secure position, who can work independently and as a team. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work and doing it right. Our work includes service activities such as troubleshooting/diagnosing, estimating, retrofitting and repairing customer sign and lighting issues or service difficulties. Every job is different. The right applicant will be mechanically skilled, good at troubleshooting and figuring things out. Skills with fabrication, welding, installing can be as important as electrical skill and experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Fully utilize Servizio Mobile handheld to review work orders and input work performed, material/labor items and job notes. YOU MUST BE DETAIL ORIENTED.
Drives YESCO sign and lighting service vehicle to customer locations. Good driving record required, Applicants must submit a state 3 year driving record with none of the following issues: (1) No D.U.I.s (2) No suspended license in the last 5 years **Any offer of employment is conditional on driver approval by our insurance company.
Restocks and maintains parts and inventory of service vehicle.
Performs electrical troubleshooting, repair, service & retrofits, following all OSHA and National Electrical Code requirements while doing so.
Prepares and uses materials consistent with specifications of job service order
Implements and maintains quality control and safety during service
Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs to service department equipment and vehicle. Garbage should be removed daily. Truck should be cleaned regularly.
Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
Physically demanding, Applicant must be in good health, no back/health problems and able to lift 40+ lbs.
MARGINAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to emergency service calls
Keeps work area/service vehicle organized, clean and free from debris to maintain a safe working environment
Performs other functions as necessary or as assigned
NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS
Interacts daily with employees and supervisors at the YESCO facility to discuss service projects
Interacts daily with YESCO customers at their location to discuss service projects, often consulting with customers regarding improvements or retrofits.
TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. We believe in doing jobs right the first time and always looking for a win/win with our customers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- 3 or more years of demonstrated experience in sign installation, fabrication, electrical trade, electrical sign and/or lighting service; This includes LED retrofits, Neon work, Flex Face Replacement, Monument and wall sign installations.
- two or more years of demonstrated experience in power tool operation, electrical, or related areas and completion of the YESCO or other electrical sign service apprenticeship program; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities: Bucket Truck/Lift use, electrical troubleshooting, Neon Service, Sign installation, Sign refurbishment, Parking Lot lighting, Building lighting, etc.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 55 per week
