Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage seating arrangements to optimize flow and comfort.
- Take accurate orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring clear communication with kitchen staff.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
- Buss tables efficiently by clearing dishes, resetting tables, and maintaining a tidy dining area to enhance guest comfort.
- Assist in food running duties by delivering prepared dishes from kitchen to tables swiftly and accurately.
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks when needed, including meal assembly or garnishing.
- Maintain excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries courteously and managing phone etiquette for reservations or inquiries.
- Uphold food safety standards through proper handling, cleaning routines, and adherence to health regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service flow during busy hours and special events like banquets or catering functions.
- Support overall restaurant operations including cash handling, dietary accommodations, and guest relations to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service roles such as hostessing, serving, bussing, or food running is preferred but not required; enthusiasm is key!
- Knowledge of restaurant POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus; familiarity with OpenTable or reservation management tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and team members.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays or supplies safely, and perform physical tasks involved in serving and bussing.
- Experience with food handling safety protocols and maintaining cleanliness standards in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in hospitality settings such as hotels or catering services enhances your candidacy.
- A proactive attitude with excellent phone etiquette and guest service skills to create memorable dining experiences.
- Culinary knowledge including basic knife skills, meat cutting, or food preparation experience can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
