Duties
- Safely operate a delivery van to deliver packages along designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic regulations
- Load and unload packages using manual handling techniques ensuring safe lifting practices and weight management.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of your vehicle to ensure it is in optimal condition for daily deliveries.
- Use mobile devices to navigate routes efficiently, update delivery statuses, and communicate with dispatch teams as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages promptly, verifying recipient identities when required, and addressing any delivery concerns professionally.
- Follow safe lifting practices during the load & unload process, managing heavy or bulky items with care to prevent injury.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries made, mileage driven, and any issues encountered during shifts.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in delivery driving or courier roles is highly preferred; familiarity with warehouse operations and material handling equipment is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving or operating a box truck is advantageous.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and moving items safely.
- Knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and weight handling in the workplace ensures compliance and safety on the road.
- Comfortable using mobile devices for route navigation and communication during deliveries.
- Strong customer service skills combined with a proactive attitude towards safety and efficiency are essential for success in this role.
