This position supports students in developing foundational technology skills, digital literacy, media creation skills, and responsible use of technology in a hands-on, project-based learning environment.This position also includes an important school media component. The Technology and Media Arts Teacher helps document and celebrate the life of the school through video, photography, and digital storytelling.The ideal candidate is has experience teaching or working with a wide range of learners, enjoys working across grade levels, and can help students build confidence with computers, digital tools, creative media, and emerging technologies.Must be creative, organized, patient, and comfortable working in a busy school environment where no two days are exactly alike.
They should enjoy helping students move from basic technology use toward meaningful creation. They should be able to balance direct instruction with hands-on exploration and understand that technology class is not just about devices, but about communication, creativity, problem-solving, and responsible participation in the digital world.This person should also be comfortable being part teacher, part media creator, part documentarian, and part problem-solver. They will play an important role in helping students learn technology skills while also helping the school tell its story through photos, videos, student work, and community documentation.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in a related field Preferred Qualifications: NC teacher licensure (or eligibility for one) is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong experience working with children, teaching technology, leading creative media projects, or supporting school-based digital learning will also be considered.
