Nashville Dental Assistant School - Midtown is looking for an experienced dental professional to serve as our Dental Assistant Program Director / Institutional Director for our Tennessee-based Registered Dental Assisting (RDA) program.
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced Tennessee RDA who wants to combine clinical expertise, education, and program leadership. In addition to any compensation earned for instructional hours taught, this role includes a $1,000 monthly stipend for Program Director / Institutional Director responsibilities.
- Location: Nashville, TN 37203— In Person
- Schedule: On-site presence required for at least 50% of the school's operating time while students are present. Instructional hours may vary based on class availability.
- Compensation: $1,000/month stipend in addition to instructional compensation
- Program: 12-week, hands-on Registered Dental Assisting training program
What You'll Do
As the Program Director / Institutional Director, you'll help oversee the academic quality, day-to-day operation, and regulatory requirements of the Tennessee dental assisting program.
- Serve as the Program Director for the Tennessee Board of Dentistry and Institutional Director for THEC
- Oversee day-to-day program operations and academic quality
- Maintain required on-site presence while students are in class
- Oversee didactic, laboratory, skills, and dental radiology instruction
- Support instructors and ensure required curriculum and instructional hours are delivered
- Monitor student attendance, grades, examinations, skills assessments, and completion documentation
- Evaluate student competency and ensure required assessments are completed
- Maintain required personnel and program documentation
- Review student completion requirements and support required program completion certifications
- Support regulatory reviews, inspections, and compliance activities
- Help ensure the program remains aligned with Tennessee Board of Dentistry and THEC requirements
Who This Is For
This role is ideal for an experienced Tennessee Registered Dental Assistant who has strong clinical knowledge and is ready to take on a greater leadership and educational role.
Prior teaching, training, or clinical supervision experience is preferred.
Required Qualifications
Tennessee Dental Assisting Requirements
- Current, active Tennessee Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential in good standing
- Current dental radiology certification
- At least 3 years of relevant dental assisting experience within the last 5 years
Institutional Director Requirements — one of the following:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university and at least 1 year of experience in administration or institutional management; or
- At least 5 years of administration or institutional management experience in postsecondary education
Additional Requirements
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain accurate student and program documentation
- Ability to support regulatory and compliance requirements
- Ability to be on-site for the required portion of program operating hours
- Comfortable working with students, instructors, and school personnel
