Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning using proper knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Cook a variety of menu items with precision, adhering to recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and cooking equipment.
- Follow all food safety protocols and safety standards during food production to prevent contamination and ensure quality.
- Assist with meal preparation for daily service as well as catering events, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality dishes.
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements based on ingredient availability and customer preferences.
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, labeling, and rotation to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
Experience
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen safety standards.
- Knowledge of dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Skilled in food handling procedures, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Experience with catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous.
- Strong knife skills combined with slicing technique expertise are essential for efficiency.
- Familiarity with food safety management systems and adherence to safety standards in production environments is required.
