About the Role
We are hiring a skilled Structural Steel Welder to support fabrication of beams, columns, platforms, pipe racks, equipment supports, and miscellaneous steel. Work includes flux‑core welding in accordance with AWS D1.1 standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW welding on structural steel components
- Weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
- Follow weld procedures, WPS requirements, and shop QC standards
- Prep material: beveling, grinding, cleaning, and fit‑up assistance
- Inspect welds for quality, penetration, and compliance
- Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and rigging safely
- Work with fitters and shop foreman to maintain production flow
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
Qualifications
- 2+ years of structural steel welding experience
- Ability to pass a 3G/4G FCAW weld test
- Strong understanding of AWS D1.1 requirements
- Ability to read basic shop drawings and weld symbols
- Must be able to lift 50–75 lbs and work in a fast‑paced shop environment
- Overhead crane and forklift experience preferred
Current project is ~8 weeks. Employment will continue if other projects are awarded.
Pay: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
