Job Description

Buyer
Buyer facilitates the timely purchase of supplies, services, and outside sub-contracting services for operations. Position is supportive to all areas of operations
Responsibilities
Prepare and distribute RFQs to qualified suppliers
Initiate and lead cost-saving initiatives
Work with suppliers and analyze pricing in order to find cost effective solutions
Purchase all services and supplies, including Factory Stores, through approved requisition and/or Factory Stores order report utilizing spot buy purchase orders and/or consignment and blanket purchase orders.
All goods/services are negotiated, processed and expedited in conjunction with operations requirements.
Reconcile A/P weekly to insure accurate/receipts.
Enter all Purchase Orders into system and maintain files with backup information
Expedite and track orders as necessary
Up to 10% travel in order to meet with suppliers
Qualifications
A minimum 3-5 years of procurement / buyer experience in a manufacturing setting
Proven track record of accountability and achievement.
Thorough knowledge of purchasing procedures and practices
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Must have strong computer skill (MS Excel, Power Point, Word)
US Citizenship or Perm Residency is required due to government military contracts.
