Job Description:
The RN House Supervisor oversees hospital operations during assigned shifts, ensuring high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, appropriate staffing, and effective coordination among clinical departments. This role serves as the administrative and clinical leader in the absence of senior nursing leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate nursing and support staff across all assigned units.
- Ensure safe, efficient, and patient-centered care delivery.
- Monitor staffing levels and make adjustments based on patient acuity and census.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing teams.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Manage patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Address patient, family, and staff concerns in a professional manner.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with physicians, department leaders, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Prepare incident reports and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate documentation and shift reports.
