Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with exceptional customer service skills. As a Service Writer, you will be the primary point of contact for customers, responsible for understanding their needs, providing accurate estimates, and ensuring a seamless service experience. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge will be essential in effectively communicating with both customers and service technicians.

Atlee Auto Service is an independent auto repair facility with 9 mechanics, 2 service writers, 1 full time parts manager and cashier/office help. We are not corporate, your wages are not based on sales. We want an individual who is going to help our customers decide which repairs they can afford to get their vehicle operating safely, not just sell to meet a sales goal. Our goal is to charge a fair price, provide excellent service and stand behind our work.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assess their vehicle service needs.
- Provide accurate estimates for repairs and maintenance services.
- Document customer concerns and relay information to service technicians.
- Maintain detailed records of services performed, parts used, and customer interactions.
- Collaborate with service technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in managing the workflow within the service department to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
- Familiarity with various vehicle maintenance tasks including oil changes, brake repair, alignment, suspension, tire service, transmissions, air brake systems, shocks & struts, diesel engine repair, and auto body repair.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
- Experience in sales is a plus.
- Proficiency in auto estimating and service writing practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks efficiently.

Pay: $41,580.23 - $62,118.13 per year
