The Senior Manager, Talent Strategy & Development, reports into the VP, Talent Strategy & Development.
This position works closely with the VP as well as the Director, Talent Strategy & Engagement, and other key stakeholders to develop and retain On-Air and Off-Air talent.
Responsibilities:

Review and evaluate on-air talent reels on a regular basis to support both recruitment and ongoing development efforts.

Partner with the VP, Talent Strategy & Development to support talent feedback processes, including ongoing check-ins, performance evaluations, and development planning.

Maintain and update the talent database, ensuring accurate documentation of feedback while proactively identifying trends and developing solutions to address recurring needs.

Monitor on-air talent presence across social media platforms and provide guidance to strengthen engagement, brand alignment, and overall digital effectiveness.

Lead the design and execution of engagement and professional development programs for off-air talent (Producers and below), in collaboration with the VP, Talent Strategy & Development and Executive Producers.

Work closely with talent and voice coaches to align on individualized development plans and performance priorities.

Provide direct coaching and actionable feedback to talent, including field-based support, to elevate performance, consistency, and cross-platform readiness.

Ensure timely documentation, tracking, and follow-through on all development plans and performance outcomes.

Own the curation, organization, and ongoing management of talent reels as part of the broader evaluation and development process.

Manage and develop the Talent Strategy & Development Support Associate, providing day-to-day direction and coaching.

Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with leadership, talent, and key stakeholders across platforms.
Basic Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in field producing and package producing with talent as well as senior level daily broadcast experience of script writing, editing and structuring

Experience in news, media and related industry.

Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with leadership across platforms

Experience with managing highly sensitive information

Communicating feedback in a constructive manner to prospective and current talent

A keen sense of creative problem solving is a must

Demonstrated ability to lead and drive strategy for talent within news and creative environment

Ability to influence and work through others in a highly matrixed organization

Ability to edit and proficiency around video production
Required Education:
The hiring range for this position in New York, NY is $132,800 to $178,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
