The Team You’ll Join
You will join Envestnet’s Wealth Sales organization, a client-facing team focused on driving growth across registered investment advisors (RIAs) and advisory firms. The team partners across Product, Marketing, Client Experience, Implementation, Data, Services, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to position Envestnet and Tamarac solutions in ways that support client business objectives, expand platform adoption, and deliver a high-quality client experience.
As part of the platform-focused sales team, you will help advance Tamarac as a core SaaS operating platform for RIAs, supporting portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, billing, reporting, and operational workflows. This is a high-growth, market-facing environment that values strategic account planning, executive-level relationship building, consultative SaaS selling, competitive insight, and disciplined pipeline execution.
How You’ll Contribute
Envestnet is seeking an experienced and results-driven Platform Business Development Director to drive strategic growth and enterprise-level platform adoption within the RIA segment. This S5 Director-level role is responsible for managing highly complex sales opportunities and long-term strategic relationships with top-tier RIA firms, with a focus on Tamarac as a comprehensive SaaS platform for advisory operations.
Own and execute enterprise-level Tamarac platform sales opportunities with significant revenue responsibility, including net-new logo acquisition, competitive displacements, and expansion across existing client firms.- Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans focused on acquiring and expanding relationships with high-value RIA firms, including $100MM+ opportunities and other complex advisory market segments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior, executive, and C-suite stakeholders within client organizations by aligning Tamarac platform capabilities to firm priorities, operating models, growth objectives, and long-term business strategy.
- Lead highly complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles from initial qualification through close, including discovery, solution positioning, demonstrations, negotiations, contract structuring, and transition to implementation planning.
- Position Tamarac as a comprehensive, end-to-end SaaS platform for portfolio management, trading, rebalancing, billing, reporting, and operations, translating technology capabilities into business outcomes for advisory firms.
- Lead with a platform-first narrative that emphasizes operational efficiency, scalability, advisor experience, workflow transformation, and the business value of adopting Tamarac as a core operating system.
- Identify large-scale opportunities for platform adoption, multi-product expansion, and broader enterprise partnerships across Tamarac modules and adjacent Envestnet capabilities.
- Partner with internal subject matter experts across Product, Integration, Data, Services, Marketing, Legal, Compliance, and Risk to support technical discovery, client solutioning, demonstrations, pricing considerations, and implementation readiness.
- Help shape sales strategy through market insight, competitive intelligence, client feedback, deal learnings, and perspective on emerging RIA platform needs.
- Influence internal stakeholders on product direction, pricing strategy, client solutions, and go-to-market opportunities based on direct market and client insight.
- Maintain strong pipeline discipline and accurate forecasting through Salesforce and related tools, consistently delivering against aggressive revenue goals and long-term growth initiatives.
- Represent Envestnet and Tamarac in market-facing activities, including conferences, client meetings, industry events, and executive-level presentations.
- Provide mentorship and informal guidance to newer or less-experienced sales team members by sharing platform sales best practices, market perspective, and strategic account planning approaches.
- Adhere to and apply Envestnet’s legal, compliance, risk, business continuity, and administrative policies, including timely completion of required training, awareness, affirmations, testing, and documentation.
- Understand and readily support Envestnet’s established corporate business practices, policies, internal controls, and procedures designed to create value and minimize risk.
What You’ll Need to Bring
10+ years of experience in SaaS sales, fintech platform sales, technology solutions sales, or wealth management sales, preferably with demonstrated success selling complex platforms to RIAs or advisory firms.- Proven track record owning enterprise-level sales cycles, strategic account plans, and high-value revenue opportunities in a competitive market.
- Demonstrated ability to build consultative relationships with senior stakeholders, executives, firm principals, operations leaders, CIOs, and other decision-makers within advisory firms.
- Strong understanding of RIA operations, including portfolio management workflows, trading and rebalancing systems, billing, reporting, data, integrations, and operational scalability needs.
- Ability to articulate SaaS platform value propositions and translate product capabilities into measurable client business outcomes.
- Experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder negotiations and structuring deals involving technical, operational, financial, and executive decision makers.
- Strong business acumen, executive presence, communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to partner effectively across internal teams and influence product, pricing, solutioning, and go-to-market discussions through client and market insight.
- Highly self-motivated, strategic, and disciplined, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, client-facing environment.
- BA/BS in finance, business administration, technology, or a related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 50-60%.
Nice-to-Haves
Direct experience selling Tamarac or comparable RIA SaaS platforms such as Orion, Black Diamond, Addepar, or similar wealth technology platforms.- Existing relationships within the RIA community and familiarity with competitive platform displacement dynamics.
- Experience with technology-led business transformation conversations, not limited to product-only selling.
- Generalist understanding of adjacent Envestnet solutions, including managed accounts, investment solutions, overlay services, financial wellness solutions, credit, insurance, or related offerings.
- CFP, CFA, or similar designation is a plus.

Our Investment in You
This role offers a base salary range of $94,000 to $125,000. The range listed represents a good-faith estimate of base salary compensation for this position and does not include incentive compensation, equity or benefits. Individual pay will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable pay transparency laws. This role is eligible for an additional incentive component as part of the total rewards package.
